Kiet Phuong, 56, died on July 10, 2022, while held at Arizona State Prison Complex Lewis in Buckeye, Arizona. The Arizona Department of Corrections said he was found unresponsive in his cell, that he died by hanging, and that the death is being classed as a suicide while authorities investigate. The department said staff treated him at the scene until Buckeye Valley fire medics arrived and pronounced him dead.
