Kevin Underwood
Kevin Ray Underwood, 46, was executed by lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester on December 19, 2024, the morning of his birthday, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He had been a grocery store worker before his death, and before the execution he apologized to the victim's family and to his own family, with his mother among the relatives present in the execution room. Department of Corrections Director Stephen Harpe said there were no complications, and Underwood had requested sedatives to help him prepare. His attorneys had sought clemency and a Supreme Court stay, and both were denied. Sources differ on his age, listing him as 45 and 46.
