Kevin Johnson, 42, died in October 2024 after the Escambia County Sheriff's Office said another person held in the same cell of the Escambia County jail infirmary beat him on October 4. The sheriff's office said he was taken to hospital for treatment and was later told he had died of his injuries. The sheriff's office said the other person was expected to face a more serious charge.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says another inmate beat Kevin Johnson in the same cell.
