Kesha Carter

Kesha Carter was placed under emergency detention for mental health treatment and booked into the Payne County jail in Oklahoma in 2012. She died by suicide about seven hours later. Oklahoma Watch reported in December 2023 that jail staff said they knew she needed help that she could not get outside the jail.
