Kenneth William Peden III
Kenneth William Peden III, 21, was found unconscious in his cell at the Marion County Jail early on a Wednesday morning in September 2021 and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said he died by suicide and gave no further details while the investigation was open. The Linn County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death with help from the Marion County District Attorney's Office and the Medical Examiner. A lawyer appointed to his case said he had suffered head injuries during an earlier police chase and shooting.
