Died in jail or a lockup
Kenneth Grochowski
Kenneth Grochowski, 57, died in August 2012 while held at the Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia. Prosecutors say he was injured in a fight with his cellmate, which they say began over a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup bought from the jail store. His sons said it was horrendous that their father was killed over candy, and his stepdaughter wrote to the court about the loss.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Assistant District Attorney Katie Powers says his cellmate killed him in a fight in their cell, and his sons called the death horrendous.
