Kelvin Maxie
Kelvin Maxie, 68, of New Orleans, died on November 27, 2025, at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna, where he had been held since November 21. A deputy doing a security check around 4 a.m. found him unresponsive in the intake booking area, according to the sheriff's office. The sheriff's office said investigators do not suspect foul play, and the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office has not determined the cause of death; further testing could take several weeks.
