Kedric Buie

26 years old · died August 13, 2017 · USP Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia

Kedric Buie, 26, was the identical twin of Kemon, who was devastated by the news of his death. On August 13, 2017, he was held at the U.S. Penitentiary Atlanta, where the Bureau of Prisons said he was found unresponsive in his cell and pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation medical examiner attributed his death to heart disease and classed it as natural, but the autopsy also recorded injuries to his back and scalp that the examiner said occurred close to the time of death. His mother, Sirrena Buie, disputes the official account and believes he was killed, and she says an independent pathologist's draft affidavit pointed to head trauma, though that affidavit was never signed.

Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness (disputed). The medical examiner ruled his death natural from hypertensive and atherosclerotic heart disease, while his mother disputes this, believes he was killed, and says an independent pathologist's unsigned draft affidavit pointed to head trauma.

Reported by: Georgia Bureau of Investigation medical examiner (medical examiner or coroner); Bureau of Prisons (the agency that held him); his mother.
