Kaleb Wise
Kaleb Wise was 22 years old and was being transported by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on a prison bus on January 14, 2015. The bus went off Interstate 20 near Penwell and collided with a moving train. The National Transportation Safety Board found that the bus lost control after striking a damaged section of guardrail. Ten people on the bus died in the crash, and a Texas Office of the Attorney General custodial death report lists Kaleb's death as occurring in state custody on that date.
