Justin Griffin
Justin Griffin, 31, was described by his grandmother, Arlene Bender, as a good person with a good heart who did the best he could through a hard life. He was taken into custody by Milford police on January 4, 2020, and after officers noticed he was lethargic he was taken to Milford Hospital and then returned to the department and placed in a holding cell. A prisoner check found him not breathing around 5:13 a.m. on January 5, and he was pronounced dead at Milford Hospital shortly after 6 a.m. The Connecticut State Police, who are investigating, had not released a cause of death as of January 7, and the autopsy has been completed. A family member said he had fallen from a ledge and hit his head the day before his arrest.
