Juan Trujillo
Juan Trujillo, 50, died on February 5, 2024, after he was attacked on a recreation yard at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, California. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), staff ordered the attackers to stop and used chemical agents before they were restrained, and medical staff found multiple puncture wounds. He was taken to an outside medical facility, where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation reported by Patch put the number of attackers at eight men, CDCR is investigating the death as a homicide with the Kern County District Attorney's Office, and the Kern County Coroner will determine the official cause of death.
