Juan Carlos Marquez, 35, died on December 20, 2020, at the Oklahoma County Jail, where he was being held. According to a jail news release, staff found him unresponsive in his cell around 7:20 a.m. The Oklahoman reported that he had been hurt in an altercation with a cellmate the day before. The jail said an internal investigation is ongoing, and investigators were said to be aware of evidence that he may have snorted contraband.
