Juan Carlos Chavez
Juan Carlos Chavez, 46, was executed by the State of Florida at Florida State Prison in Raiford on December 17, 2014. According to the Naples Daily News, the procedure began at 8:02 p.m. after a delay of about two hours while the U.S. Supreme Court considered his last-minute appeals, and he was pronounced dead at 8:17 p.m. In a handwritten final statement on notebook paper, he wrote about sin, mercy and faith and said he would die at peace because Christ Jesus had set him free from the law of sin and death.
