Joshua Staples died in June 2022 while held in a shared holding cell at the Burnett County Jail in Siren, Wisconsin. Investigators say jail video shows fentanyl being passed between people held there before it reached him, and Burnett County prosecutors allege the drug was brought into the jail. His widow said their child will never meet their father, and his sister said, "We don't have Josh." Criminal cases over the death have since been brought against others.
