Died in jail or a lockup
Joshua Ray Silvers
Joshua Ray Silvers, 45, of Statham, was held at the Athens-Clarke County Jail in Georgia when he died in April 2026. Jail staff found him slumped over in his cell, and the county coroner pronounced him dead. The Clarke County Sheriff's Office has not stated a cause or manner of death, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating. His mother was notified after many attempts to reach the family.
