Died in jail or a lockup
Joshua Darrin Hughes
Joshua Darrin Hughes, 41, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, died on December 12, 2023, while held at the Fannin County Detention Center. He was found unresponsive and taken to Fannin Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary autopsy information from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation indicates that he died of a fentanyl overdose. The GBI has arrested two people in connection with supplying the drugs that reached him inside the facility.
