Joseph S. Zawacki
Joseph Zawacki, 46, died on September 5, 2017, on a recreation field at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Tucson, where he was being held. He was found dead there, and a Pima County grand jury described his death as a fatal attack. Four other men held at the prison have been indicted in connection with his death. KOLD reported that his death and that of another man, Acosta, are being investigated as homicides.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. A Pima County grand jury indicted four fellow inmates in connection with what was described as a fatal attack on Zawacki.
