Joseph Giordano
Joseph Giordano, 64, died of cancer on September 29, 2013, in a prison ward at an Albany hospital. He had been held at the Adirondack Correctional Facility, where staff first treated his illness as pneumonia. His family says he was coughing blood before he entered custody, that a lung spot was ignored, and that a medical parole request was still under review when he died. His son Michael said Giordano was a father who had hoped to die at home in Deer Park, Long Island, and was able to say goodbye to some relatives before he died.
