Joseph Clark Holloway
Joseph Clark Holloway, 52, was found with multiple stab wounds in a housing area at Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore on the morning of June 5, 2019. He was airlifted to a hospital, where he died. The Alabama Department of Corrections has said another man held at the prison is a suspect, and the facility was placed on temporary lockdown during the investigation. Sources do not agree on everything: one report gave the death date as July 5, 2017, which conflicts with the other accounts of June 5, 2019.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. The Alabama Department of Corrections says another incarcerated man stabbed Holloway in a housing area at Staton Correctional Facility, and that man was named a suspect and charged with murder.
Reported by: Alabama Department of Corrections (the agency that held him). The only account of how this person died comes from the agency that held him.
