Joseph Berg
Joseph Berg was a plastic surgeon who owned a cosmetic surgery practice in Orem, and he had three children. He was found dead at his home in Orem in August 2012, days after he was released from the Utah County jail, where he had been held. Authorities said the bodies, including that of his fiancée, Lucy Schwartz, had no obvious signs of trauma, and they were still investigating the cause of death. His attorney said his depression and addictions to painkillers and alcohol apparently were too much for him to overcome, while acknowledging this was speculation, and said he had hoped to regain his medical license and rebuild his life.
