Jose Peralta
Jose Peralta, 36, of Waterbury, died on January 9, 2020, after being found lying on his back on a dormitory floor at Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers, Connecticut, around 1 a.m. The Department of Correction said he had a contusion on the back of his head after a fall, and that he was taken to the infirmary and then to an emergency room, where he was pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m. The department is conducting an internal investigation and has placed two nurses on administrative leave, but it has not said how or where he fell.
