Jose Luis Lopez
Jose Luis Lopez, 47, died on September 7, 2007, while held at the Midland Central Detention Center in Midland, Texas. According to a KCBD report, a jailer found him hanging in his shower, and jail medical staff and Midland EMS were unable to revive him. A justice of the peace pronounced him dead at 12:25 p.m., and Lubbock Police were said to have confirmed the death as a suicide. The Texas Rangers and sheriff's investigators were reported to be looking into the death, and his body was to be returned to Lubbock for autopsy.
