Jose Guadalupe Ramos-Solano
Jose Guadalupe Ramos-Solano was a father who had lived and worked in Los Angeles for more than 28 years. His son remembered him as a good dad, a good person and a hard worker. He died on March 25, 2026, while held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in California. ICE said staff found him unconscious in his bunk and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and it has not released an official cause of death. People held at the facility told an advocacy hotline that medical staff did not respond until after he was unresponsive, a claim ICE disputes, and his family has asked about the care he received for diabetes and hypertension, which ICE said included daily treatment.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined (neglect alleged). Detainees told an advocacy hotline that medical staff did not respond until after he was found unresponsive, and ICE says no official cause of death has been released.
