Jose Goevava
Jose Goevava died on October 5, 2024, while held at the Shelby County Jail in Texas, according to a Texas Attorney General custodial death report. A separate KTBS 3 report describes a 24-year-old man who died at the same jail in Center on that date, after staff found him unresponsive in a holding cell while he waited to be booked. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office said a preliminary autopsy found suicide was the cause of death, and the Texas Rangers are investigating.
