Jose Francisco Gallegos
Jose Francisco Gallegos was held in the Conejos County jail in Colorado, awaiting trial, after being moved there from another jail. A report reprinted in the Cheyenne Transporter on November 10, 1880, says a mob took him out of the jail a few days after he arrived and lynched him. The reprint does not give the date of the killing and does not say whether the jailers resisted, gave up the keys or handed him over.
