Died in prison
Jose Cesar Alvarez Ibarra
Jose Cesar Alvarez Ibarra, 50, of Redmond, died on October 17, 2026, at a local hospital, where he had been taken from Deer Ridge Correctional Institution in Madras, Oregon. He was receiving hospice care when he died. The Oregon Department of Corrections said the manner of death is pending, and the Oregon State Police were notified. The state medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
