Jose Carlos Miranda
Jose Carlos Miranda, 28, was a laborer from Shelbyville, Kentucky, who worked at places including Ficosa in Simpsonville and Alvarado's Drywall in Shelbyville. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, reading and time with his nieces, nephews and other family members, and his parents, sister and brothers survive him. He was found unresponsive at the Shelby County Detention Center on November 29, 2025, and died at UofL Health Shelbyville Hospital. Shelby County Coroner Jeff Ivers said no cause of death has been determined and that medical and toxicology results may take several weeks, and the jailer declined to comment on the circumstances of his death.
