Josafat Bonifacio
Josafat Bonifacio, 32, died on September 28, 2023, after being stabbed at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, where he was held. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said two other people held there allegedly attacked him with a weapon made inside the prison, and that he was taken to an outside medical facility, where he was pronounced dead. CDCR is investigating the death as a homicide together with the prison's investigative unit and the Kern County District Attorney's Office, and the Kern County Coroner will determine the official cause of death.
