Jonovan Michael Cruz
Jonovan Michael Cruz died on January 28, 2025, while held in federal custody at the Hagåtña Detention Facility on Guam. A medic was called to the facility around 3:30 p.m., and he was taken to Naval Hospital Guam, where he was pronounced dead. The Department of Corrections said it opened an internal affairs investigation into security protocols and procedures at the facility. The Guam Police Department, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service, is investigating the death, and officials have not yet stated a cause.
