Jonathan Merced
Jonathan Merced was 19 and had a congenital heart condition that he had been treated for his whole life, according to his mother. His mother's federal lawsuit against Schuylkill County and PrimeCare Medical says staff at the Schuylkill County Prison ignored his repeated requests for care and left him without treatment as his health declined. He was taken to a hospital in late October 2019, transferred to Philadelphia in November, and died there on November 12, 2019. The county and PrimeCare did not respond to requests for comment.
