Jonathan Carpenter
Jonathan Carpenter, 21, of Minneapolis, was held at the state prison in St. Cloud. His mother, Sandra Carpenter, said he had been depressed and felt deep sorrow for others and for his family. Prison officials told the Sherburne County sheriff's office that guards found him hanging from bed linens in his cell around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2003. Officials said a suicide note was found and that the ongoing investigation points to suicide.
