Johnny Lopez
Johnny Lopez, 24, died on August 17, 2018, while held at California State Prison in Corcoran. According to prison officials, officers heard a loud noise during security checks that Friday night and found him on the floor of his cell. Staff said they ran in to try to save him, and he died about an hour later. Prison officials classified the death as a homicide, and the prison's Investigative Services Unit opened an investigation.
