John Thompson

John Thompson was held in the jail at Kingston, Tennessee, in October 1885. According to a Chattanooga dispatch carried by several newspapers, a mob took him from the jail on the night of October 26 and hanged him. The reports attribute the killing to the mob, and the accounts available are brief.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A Chattanooga dispatch reported that a mob took John Thompson from the Kingston, Tenn., jail and hanged him.
