John Temple
John Temple, a Black man, was wounded in an encounter with a policeman in Montgomery, Alabama, and taken to a hospital, where he was being held. According to a Montgomery dispatch, in the early hours of September 30, 1919, a small band of white men entered the hospital, overpowered the guards and shot him as he lay in bed.
