John Sherman Greenwell
John Sherman Greenwell, 44, was held at the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, Maryland. In September 2023 he was taken to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital and treated, then returned to the facility. After a second medical emergency there, he was taken back to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating the cause of death and whether its personnel followed policy, and the cause and manner of death remain pending.
