John R. Taylor, 35, died while held at Westville Correctional Facility in Indiana. Staff contacted Indiana State Police after his body was found on the morning of November 7, 2023, though one report gives November 8 as the date of death. The LaPorte County Coroner's preliminary autopsy attributed his death to blunt force trauma, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities said another person held at the facility beat him in a dormitory bathroom and then dragged his body to his cell.
