John Perry
His brother, W. C. Perry, was reported to be going about the village in grief over John Perry's death. John Perry was held in a Colorado jail when, in February 1886, a mob of about two hundred masked or disguised men overpowered the sheriff, took him from the jail and hanged him from a railroad water tank. An engine sent to move him away from danger arrived too late, according to a newspaper report. The report says the sheriff was overpowered rather than handing over the prisoner.
