John Hartwell

John Hartwell was held at the Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge in 1918. The Powell County Coroner, Heather Gregory, said he was shot by an officer during an escape attempt after he got over the prison wall. He is buried in the prison section of Hillcrest Cemetery.
