Executed
John H. Hodges
John H. Hodges was hanged at a jail in February 1907, on the same gallows used for an earlier execution there, according to a newspaper account published the day of his death. The paper reports that he walked to the scaffold with apparent steadiness while a large crowd gathered outside the jail. His body was removed from the jail shortly afterward, and the article says his remains were to be taken to the country, seven miles southeast of the city, to be laid to rest beside his wife.
