John E. Newsome Sr.
John E. Newsome Sr., 61, died in July 2016 at the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville. A Madison County court record says another man held at the jail, Terrence T. Lee, beat John E. Newsome Sr. to death. Lee pleaded guilty to murder in court, according to the record. The Alton Telegraph reported the case in October 2016.
