John DeMotto
John DeMotto, 49, died while held at the Mono County Jail in California. The Mono County Sheriff's Office said correctional deputies found him alone and unresponsive in his cell at about 3:10 a.m. on July 10, 2026, and that he was pronounced dead at 3:52 a.m. The sheriff's office has not given a cause of death. The Mono County District Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Office are investigating, and Washoe County will perform the autopsy.
