Joel Rodriguez, 38, of Lake Elsinore, died on January 13, 2026, at the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, Riverside County, California. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department said he was found in a day room experiencing a medical emergency and was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
