Joel James Sambrano
Joel Sambrano, 20, died on March 3, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center after being held at the Bexar County Jail in San Antonio, Texas. According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, a detention deputy found him attempting suicide in his cell, and a second deputy cut him down. He was taken to the hospital and died about an hour later. The sheriff's office said it is investigating his death, and a San Antonio Current report from 2021 described him as hanging when deputies found him.
