Joe Moore

Joe Moore, a Black preacher, was held in the jail at Crawfordsville, Georgia. Late on May 21 or early on May 22, 1911, a mob overpowered the jailer, took Moore from the jail, and hanged him from a tree. Both newspaper accounts report that the mob overpowered the jailer to reach him.
