Joe Harris
Joe Harris, 55, was found dead at the Varner Unit in Arkansas on a Wednesday morning in August 2018, one of five people who died at the facility that week. The Arkansas Department of Correction said the causes were still under review and awaited the medical examiner's findings. Its spokesperson, James DePriest, said drug-related deaths would not be surprising. A search of Harris's cell after his death found a green substance that was possibly K2, a synthetic drug, but whether it played any part in his death has not been established.
