Joe Cue
Joe Cue was held in the Omaha city jail. According to The Farmers' Union, a crowd gathered after a rumor spread that a five-year-old girl had died, overpowered the police, drove off firemen with hose, and tore up street-car rails to break through the jail's steel gates and doors. The mob took Joe Cue from his cell and hanged him from an electric trolley wire. The paper reported that the girl had not died after all.
