Jody Cook
Jody Cook was held at the Varner Unit in Grady, Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Correction said prison staff noticed a change in his condition late on a Sunday in his barracks, and he was taken to the infirmary and then to a hospital. He was pronounced dead on Monday morning, August 8, 2016. The Arkansas State Police are investigating his death, and no cause of death has been reported.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. The Arkansas Department of Correction reported that staff saw Cook acting abnormally and took him to the infirmary and a hospital, but gave no cause of death while the Arkansas State Police investigate.
