Joaquin Rodriguez
Joaquin Rodriguez became ill with diabetes complications while held at the Monroe County Jail in Rochester, New York, in October 2009. According to the state Commission of Correction, he went 36 hours without treatment and died five days after he first fell ill. The Commission accused the contracted medical provider of gross negligence and gross incompetence.
