Jitendra alias Karua
Jitendra alias Karua, 46, was a resident of Sarai Akbarpura village in Firozabad district. He was found dead in a septic tank at Firozabad district jail on a Sunday morning, after staff found him missing from a headcount and search. Jail superintendent Amit Chaudhary said he removed the tank cover and died by suicide, and an officer said CCTV footage showed this, while an officer said he had been under mental stress due to financial difficulties. Two warders were suspended for alleged negligence, and magisterial and judicial inquiries were ordered; the autopsy report is awaited.
