Jim Boston
A mob took Jim Boston from the Williamston jail in Williamston, North Carolina, and hanged him to a sweetgum tree within a mile of Washington, N.C., according to a Charlotte Observer special correspondent quoted by the Atlanta Semi-Weekly Journal. His body was found there the next morning. The correspondent reported that the lynchers cut the telephone wires. The account describes a lynching from the jail, which the Journal's report attributes to a mob, not to the jail's staff.
